Wow! How Time Flies!
Well, it's been nearly 2 months since I posted to our blog and I must sincerely apologize! It has been such a busy few months that I have hardly had any time to breath!
We have some FABULOUS news in our family! On December 22, 2010 the Judge of Campbell County District Court agreed with us that it was in the best interest of my other children to be adopted legally by Tyler! So, we are officially all "Barker's" and we couldn't be happier! It has been such an amazing journey and Tyler is truly a magificant man for opening his heart and letting in and loving te kids like theywere his own and he was rewarded by gtting to have them to cal his own as well. He is so excited, as we all are and want to thank all of our dear friends and family members who supported us along the way.
Also, on January 5th of this month, Layla Raye turned 1!!! I could hardly believe watching her devour her cake that one year had already passed my. She has grown so much and is already waling (for the most part, lol) She is so beautiful and most of the time, looks just like her daddy. Most people dont see it, but on a daily basis looking at her and her manuerisms and he facial expressions and other things make her look just like him.
Tomorrow, on January 9th, Carter will turn 6 years old and I can hardly belive that either! As part his birthday gift, I agreed to make a cake with him instead of buying one. It's going to be interesting because he picked out a pirate ship cake pan and I haven't ever decorated a cake before. This will be so much fun!
Tyler is working out of town for a few days which isn't any fun but it was a blessing in disguise because we were worried since he took a couple of weeks off in December to go to Evanston for Christmas and we were a little behind on some bills (having to fix the car didn't help financially either! lol)
We had a very nice time in Evanston in December, we stayed some days at Terri & Jim's house and some days with my parents so it was nice to get to see both families. Spending Christmas at the Barker's house was nice too, to see diferent traditions and experience new ones too. The kids got to play in the backyard in the deep snow and go to Great Grandma and Pa Barker's house fro dinner and breakfast and everyone was so nice to get the kidsa nd us gifts for Christmas. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful and thoughtful family members in our lives. The drive home was tough because the weater wasn't cooperating, and just like last year we cam ehome to a freezing house and no hot water but since the same thing happened last year, Tyler knew just what to do to get us all set up!
My computer isn't allowing me to download pics right now, so I will try again tomrrow to add pictures.
